William Paterson University’s Assistant Men’s Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Scouting Ian Michaelchuck Makes Mid-Week Appearance to Meet and Greet Florida Eels Players

Coach Michaelchuck made a one hour presentation to the Eels Elite team players and then again for the Eels Premier team players concerning William Paterson University. He spoke in detail about the academics, university life, the 700-acre campus, its 11,000 member student body, and its ACHA Division I men’s ice hockey program. He explained to the boys about NCAA Div. I, II, and III programs. He compared it to the ACHA Division I programs. He spoke at length about the cost of education, financial aid scholarships and grants. He spoke in great detail about the legacy of William Paterson’s Men’s Ice hockey program and its history of advancing to the Nationals and its accolades in winning its numerous championships.

It was a great informal setting as players got to ask many questions about the college experience, playing hockey in college, balancing school academics ice hockey and social life. This was a unique opportunity for our guys and I was very proud of the questions and character of our players during this college recruiting session. As I noted in a prior news bulletin, this presentation is truly unprecedented and   I am personally grateful that Coach Michaelchuck visited our program.

Indeed, the Eels players are very fortunate to be able to have a University representative and a member of its coaching staff to come and meet and talk to our players.    We are proud to be able to extend these recruiting opportunities for our players. That is why our players come to the Eels.
