Week One of Major Recruitment Completed at the Americas Showcase in Pittsburgh PA. See Below.

 

This coming weekend GM Scarpaci travels to Chicago to attend the renowned EHK Junior Showcase in Chicago Illinois. The Eels have traditionally done very well at this venue signing over a dozen players over the past 3-4 years (Brandon Halverson, Brian Dennerlein to name a few) and expects this to be another solid venue to scout junior talent for our teams for next season.

 

Meanwhile Coach Jason Bloomingburg and Frankie Scarpaci will be crossing the state to the East Coast of Florida to evaluate and scout some 1998 players and 1999 futures. This is a new prospects camp for the younger ages and the Eels no doubt will be anxious to see what talents are available in Florida. You cannot discount those players as we have seen over the past several seasons we can garner some very solid players form the local Florida pool as well. Look at our own home grown Florida Hockey Players:

 

Clayton Boyd, Danny Boyd, Jordan Court, Vasili Malliaras, Josh DeLezenne, Shilo Vega (Florida & Alaska), Jonathan Carlson, Brandon Hotaling, Liam McCune, Kyle Salminen, Bryan Miller, Jared Vetter Dylan Thompson, Joey Colatraci, RJ Boyd, Sammy Boyd, Richie Boyd ,   and  Mario Puskarich to name a few

The Florida Eels coaching staff is very much in full swing recruiting for next season. GM Scarpaci and coach Frankie returned once again to their annual recruitment mission at the Americas Showcase in Pittsburgh PA. That showcase brings in over 550 high schools all stars that compete in their regional. District or state sponsored teams in front of over 110 junior coaches and another 30 college coaches in quest to move on to their Next level” 
We have been extremely successful over the past 4 years garnering players from this event. This year coach Frankie and GM Scarpaci were there for 5 1/2 days meeting and greeting with hundreds of players and interviewing their coaches. We had some pretty strong meetings and are very encouraged with the players we spoke with. 
We extended offers to join us at the Pro Am NHL Pre Draft showcase and the USPHL may showcase so the entire staff can make even greater evaluation on their skills and talents. Some players will join us at the Sr. Chowder Cup; as well 
This is the first recruiting mission of the season. 
Next week coach Jason and Coach Frankie will head to another mission in the East Coast of Florida while GM Scarpaci heads up to Chicago to the prestigious EHK prospects showcase for the weekend,

This is our busiest time of the year. What we do now will determine how well we will do in the fall. I take no weekend off from now until August says GM Scarpaci. We put in the hours now.
