NYU defeated FGCU for the men’s ACHA Division 2 National Championship. This was NYU’s first national championship in any sport. Former Florida Eels goalie Alex Pepper a senior is a member of the NYU squad. This is very exciting for Alex as he is graduating this year and got to be part of a terrific program. One that he helped grow and develop over the past 4 seasons. Alex had many choices in deciding where to attend college and where to play his college hockey. Alex decided to forego the NCAA division 3 route and take advantage of gaining an education at one of the top 3-4 universities in the USA. In the end as we often conference with parents is that in all likelihood you won’t be playing in the NHL. Therefore if the opportunity comes about and there is a top ACHA university of college offering a spot you should strongly look at it. I call it the value of the diploma. The ACHA div 1 and 2 colleges offer some very good hockey. So learn from Alex he is a living example of what it can be for you
Congratulations Alex to you , your team and every one part of NYU. We as Eels are very proud of you and you have become another rich legacy in the Eels success stories
