The Florida Eels are pleased to announce the re-signing of Kaleb Harrop for the 2020-21 season.

Kaleb came to the Eels last season from St Louis MO.  We scouted Kaleb at the USA Hockey Nationals for High School All Stars – the Americas Cup. There they showcase the “Best of the Best”  in High School Hockey. We were very excited to have signed him. He came as top prospect. Although he came in as a rookie, he was quite mature for his age.  At 5’11” 195 pounds he made his physical presence felt immediately in games. He wasn’t afraid to throw his weight around and was relentless in winning loose puck battles and creating turn overs. In 39 GP he scored 15 goals huge and assisted in 10 others. In fact in December he selected Player of The Week by the league after scoring 4 goals and several assists in a weekend series. This was very impressive as a first-year player playing in a very competitive environment where goals and assist do not come easy. There are no gifts here.

He was a huge part of the team’s success in owning first place in the USPHL Florida Division  all season long. That was very unique for a team to own first place the entire season. In fact, most of the season the team was ranked in the top 5 in the league. That was an incredible benchmark for this young man as he and his teammates cemented their accomplishments as the Florida Div. Regular  Season Champions. He was a key performer on the team’s power play. Moreover, this young man has impeccable character. He was always supportive and encouraged his other teammates. He showed poise and leadership throughout the season on the bench and in the locker rom. . He also has the other intangibles that college coaches look for: high compete level and a high hockey IQ.

We are excited about  Kaleb’s return to the Eels.
