Matthew Schoer Leads Eels Elite Team  to a 3-0 Shutout Over the Atlanta Mad Hatters to Complete the 3 Game Weekend Sweep Of the Series.

It is not easy to earn a win in this league, it is not easy to capture in shutout and darn right impossible to accumulate 3 straight wins against the same opponent in the same weekend but that is what the Eels Elite team did Sunday in their 3-0 win over the Mad Hatters. It was a phenomenal weekend for the Elite team. They outscored the Hatters 11-3 on the weekend series. This was all about putting it together the entire weekend. It was a show of will talent and depth. The Eels played every player and went deep into the line up and got scoring from so many different players and each of its 3 netminders played and played flawlessly.

We had every read to lose Friday after an incredible ordeal of 13 hours on the bus but the boys showed unmatched resilience will and determination. Then on Saturday after feeling the exhaustion came out just as strong. The boys did not realize how tired they were. It was their heart that pulled off Saturday’s win. But what can we say about Sunday. It was all their conditioning. Sometimes 4-5 hours per day. They not only came to play they came out fresh and on fire.

What was so impressive was the way they played. They smothered the Hatters offensively and on the fore-check and suffocated them on the back check. They limited their penalties with smart disciplined play. We were very proud of the guys. And well what can we say about veteran goalie Matthew Schoer, he knew how important this game was for the team. They were closing in on Tampa and these 2 points were critical to those ends. He stopped everything that the Hatters through at him. He turned away attacker after attacker. Shot after shot. Near goals after rockets. Way to go guys . The Atlanta team was a solid team but the Eels thawed their attack. They unsettled their weekend plans.
