The Florida Eels are hosting its first annual alumni game. this Saturday December 2nd 2023 at 11:30 am at the Fort Myers Skatium. This event will celebrate the Eels 20 years of junior hockey. The Eels emanated with its beginnings in the old SEJHL, then migrated with its 2nd team in the Met league, This was the predecessor  to the Premier and Elite teams. Then the Eels  moved  its programs over to the EJ South, and thereafter to  the USPHL South and currently the USPHL.  During this process there was quite a bit of growing pains. We went from Junior C to Junior B to Junior A. We saw our players come exclusively from the local market to its current world wide basis point. Indeed, over the past 10+ years our Eels came from across the USA Europe Asia and Australia.

The Eels have had  a rich and storied franchise with much success over the years. It boast 349 players that it has advanced to college.The program has won numerous Divisional titles and consistently advanced both teams to Nationals.  It has had so many great memories and this weekend we have players from across the spectrum joining us to make up 2 teams who will compete and have fun. This is a weekend of celebration and giving thanks to the guys who laid the foundation and framework for the current Eels teams. They were truly pioneers.

We have so many guys coming back and the alumni game will be at 11:30 am at the Skatium. Many of the players are traveling in from afar and we are grateful to have them join us.

 At 4:30 pm the Elite team will square off against the Jacksonville Battalion Elite and then at 7:30 pm the Premier squad takes on Jacksonville’s Premier team

So come join us for a weekend full of fun and completive hockey. The Eels will have a total of 6 games against Jacksonville this weekend.
