This award is given to each month to a Florida Eels defenseman who has played outstanding for the Eels Elite team. Both Nick Tigges  and Georgy Samodelkin have both demonstrated tremendous skill and talent and have been selected as recipient of this prestigious award. It is bestowed on players who exemplified outstanding performance on defense. Both Nick and Georgy

Both players play the aggressive hybrid  style of play that integrates  both defense and offense in their game. Very strong on the power play and penalty kill alike.

They make excellent first passes out and join in on line rushes as a 4th forward that puts enormous pressure on opposing teams. These guys have high hockey IQs and were both dead heat in the selection process that the judges found them equally deserving of the award for December

They both were key to the Eels success for the Month of December.
