Weekend Games

It is all on the line this weekend for the Elite division. Currently the Eels are in first place but they are tied with Tampa Juniors. The Eels home stand ahead as they have 24 wins and Tampa with 22. They both have only one game left having played 39 points.

This Saturday the Eels and Tampa square off at the Fort Myers Skatium at 8:50  for the regular season finality.  All is on the line in more than one way. First of all, the number one seed, gets home ice advantage. So both Tampa and The Eels are in a dog fight for this advantage.

The other wrinkle in this matter is the  Palm Beach Hawks. They are in the 3rd seed with 37 points. But they have only played 38 games. Guess who they play this weekend? Roswell. OMG Palm Beach who has been the 3rd seed pretty much all of the year and now they can slip in and gain sole possession of first place.

That is really what will pan out. So then this weekend will determine 2nd seed. That is a critical  as the 2nd seed also gains home ice advantage for the 1st round.

This weekend Elite game at the Skatium ought to be very exciting. The boys ought to be in full spirit anxious hungry and prepared to do their job.

Game time is 8:45 drop of puck

In the matinee, the Empire also has its final regular season game vs. the Tampa Juniors. The Empire team has clinched 3rd place so it will be traveling to Ellenton for its playoff games. But they have first two games to tackle. Saturday’s contest vs. the Tampa Juniors at 3:20 pm and an away contest by themselves vs the Palm Beach Hawks on Sunday at 3:30 pm.

Please come out and join us for the games at home.
