Welcome Coach Mitch to The Florida Eels

The Florida Eels welcomes Charles “Mitch” Hill to its coaching staff.  Mitch will be taking over as the Eels Elite coach for the 2021-22 season. Mitch has been coaching for the Warriors U16 team in 2020-21 at the Fort Myers Skatium and previously for the Black Jacks U16 team at the Skatium for several seasons. Mitch also worked with the Florida Eels coaching staff last year as an interim coach when Covid struck several members of the Coaching staff. He was previously the Hockey Director at the Fort Myers Skatium. Mitch played college hockey at Penn State Berks.  He originally was from Lititz, PA.

Mitch will be joining the Eels immediately and will be coaching in Massachusetts for the several Chowder Cup series. In Boston the Eels will have 15 showcase teams in July.  He will be quite busy to say the least. The Eels will have in total well over 400 players at their showcase series and tryouts.

Mitch will be working very closely with Premier Coach Frank Scarpaci to ensure continuity with the two teams. Coach Scarpaci is without doubt one of the league’s top coaches and he will be an excellent mentor to Mitch. Coach Mitch will also be working with GM Scarpaci in the Development and Advancement of our players. Mitch will be welcome addition to our program. He brings quite a bit of experience to the job and has phenomenal skills himself. It is not often you find someone with his skill, experience, and dedication. This young man brings so much passion to his craft and is committed to his players. He has a great following. The local players love him. He is a man of impeccable character and has shares in to the Eels philosophy.  We welcome Mitch to our Eels family.
