Practice Makes Perfect
And this proved perfectly true for Florida Eels Junior program practice goalie Michael Chambre. He has been selected to USA Hockey’s NTDP and committed to Boston University NCAA Div. I Men’s Ice Hockey
Chambre joined the Eels last season as a practice goalie with the Eels Premier and Elite teams. As a 2005 he was underage and ineligible to play Juniors. He continued as standout netminder on the Tier I AAA Florida Alliance Midget U16 team. He trained daily with the Eels, facing shots from some of the Eels top performers who were all-stars in the USPHL. No doubt when you face shots from snipers such as Demeed Podrezov, TJ Zebley, Tristan Roost, Jake Court, Taurin Haddon- Harris and Gage Dill you are going to be better. And better he got. Indeed, that maybe the understatement of the year!
GM Scarpaci echoed all year that Michael Chambre is one of the best goalies in the USA. Well, over the Spring and Summer, Chambre sure opened the eyes of key folks. His performance over the past several seasons with the Florida Alliance caught the eyes of many folks across the USA. Then he had several looks by the NTDP. And not to the surprise of us, he was selected to USA Hockey U17 National team.
He not only has incredible skill set, but he is also one of the most determined players we ever seen. He had unwavering commitment and dedication to make himself better every time he hit the ice. Moreover, he possesses impeccable character. We especially proud of Michael’s accomplishments as it all started with the Eels as he started playing goalie as a mite with us, and we got to see him develop and mature into find young man and one phenomenal goaltender.
And if being selected to the NTDP is not impressive enough, well we are equally proud to report that Michael just committed to Boston University NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey team after he completes his NTDP. We at the Eels are honored and privileged to have had Michael part of our program.
