A Year In The Making

Florida Eels Elite Team Off To Nationals

The Elite team defeated the Florida Junior Blades in 2 straight games taking the best of 2 out of 3 in the Florida Division Playoffs. The Eels were victorious downing the Jr Blades 7-1 Friday afternoon in game one and 5-1 in game two Sunday evening. The Eels Elite will join the Premier team heading to Massachusetts for the USPHL Nationals. In the Elite Division in Florida the Eels will join the Tampa Juniors Elite team. In the South Division Hampton Road Whalers and the Richmond Generals were victorious and will also be heading to Nationals. In the Elite Division there will be 8 teams. Two brackets of 4 and they will play a round robin in their bracket. Then the top two from their bracket will cross over. The schedule will be posted this week,

In yesterday’s game both teams battled till the end. For the Eels they simply needed to close things out and they would go on. The Blades needed to keep things alive to earn game 3 on Monday. But the Eels offense proved too much for the Blades and the Eels came out victorious. The scoring went as follows:

In net for the Eels was Thomas Steere (W) for over 2 periods and then Nahuel Veyan came in to close things out.

Congrats to the Eels players who worked so hard over the entire year and brought tehm to earn a right to Nationals
