The Eels Won their 20th straight game this season.
The Florida Eels Junior Hockey Elite team defeated the Atlanta Madhatters in game one of the USPHL Florida Division playoffs 13-0. The Eels took charge from the drop of the puck until the final second of the game. The boys came out on fire. They had the extra step in their stride. They outshot the Madhhaters by a 2-1 margin. Mathew Schoer did what he does best. Clase the door and deliver a shutout. He has over a 1.//2 dozen this season. Everyone in the building witnessed the skill set of this team. They are so deep in talent. There is very liitle difference between line 1.2,3 or 4. The same is true with the defensive pairing. When Atlanta tuned up the hitting, the Eels matched it in kind and infact were overwhelming against the Madhatters. Indeed, the Eels combined a smothering fore-check with its suffocating back checking to completely thaw any sustainable attack.
This was a huge win for the Florida Eels Junior Hockey Elite team. But it was just that. A win. The coaches reminded all of its players that we need another strong and convincing win on Sunday to reach out mission. We need two wins to advance to Nationals. Ww know Atlanta is a tough team and they won’t siply go away disappear or quit. They will in all probability bring out everything. Leave nothing for chance. They know their backs are against the wall so to speak. This is a team that is hungry and needs to win.
So we can expect a great game. Again, a win by the Eels, it is all over. The Eels advance. If the Madhatters win the series goes to a game 3 Monday.
We hope you can join us live in Tampa or on Hockey TV 10:30 am drop of puck.
