Big Gage Downing Returns to the Florida Eels Elite Team
Gage Downing 6’2” 225 pounds from West Chester PA returns to the Florida Eels Elite team. Gage is a bog power forward who can play solid defense as well. He is a seasoned veteran having played for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers back in 2012-13 in the MJHL and for the Eels Elite team in 2013-14 and Penn State Berks ACHA.
Gage has enormous upside and is venturing back to the Eels to focus on player development and gaining needed exposure to NCAA schools. He is an impact player and has enormous potential. He was transitioned when he played for the Eels from Defense to forward and became a consummate offensive threat up front. He was very difficult for opponents to handle in front of the net and was a major force to contend with battling along the boards.
He has size and knows how to use it says Coach Jason. He moves very well for a big guy. He is very coachable and listens. That is key to a player’s development. He has a nice work ethic. He wants to be better. That is why he elected to return.
We are excited to have him back at the Eels and in the line up. With the retuning veterans and key off-season acquisitions Gage should add a very nice touch to the Eels game plan echoes GM Scarpaci.
