Forward: Adam Gaudet, Florida Eels
Gaudet (St. Donat, Que.) scored a pivotal first goal to even up the score at 1-1 in what ended as an eventual 3-2 shootout victory for his team against the rival Florida Jr. Blades. The next day, he also earned an assist on the first goal against the Palm Beach Typhoon. He also co-led his team with a +2 rating on the weekend, posted one hit and blocked one shot. The second-year Eel has 28 points in 29 games.
Defense: Artjoms Kadnikovs, Tampa Bay Juniors
Kadnikovs (‘03/Riga, Latvia) posted a goal as the Juniors were able to defeat the host Atlanta MadHatters 6-2 in what turned out to be a single-game trip due to weather conditions. Three of his four shots in the game were on target, and he was second in ice time in the game at 20:37. Kadnikovs has 11 points in 20 games this season, his first in North America.
Goaltender: Blake Mons, Tampa Bay Juniors
Mons (‘02/Charleston, S.C.) is a third-year Premier goalie enjoying success in his new home in Tampa. Most recently, he put up 24 saves in the defeat of Atlanta. He has given up just three total goals in his first three starts of 2022, which included a 30-save shutout of the Mountain Division-leading Utah Outliers at the USPHL Winter Showcase. Overall, Mons is 12-5-0-0 for the season.
