Atlanta Host Atlanta Premier Highlight This Weekend
This weekend the Eels host the Mad Hatters. We played Atlanta in the season opener in Atlanta. Both Eels teams swept that series in 4 games. The Eels Premier team is in first place with 20 points The Mad Hatters are in 5th place with 4 points. But we cannot take them for granted. Atlanta swept the Tampa Juniors last week 2 games to their credit. They have their top goalie back Nathan Gauthier and held Tampa to 2.5 GAA. But one thing for sure is we won’t be taking any opponent lightly. The games in Atlanta were pretty decent. We were their first opponents ever in the Atlanta franchise history and they were working things out as a team. We saw some pretty talented players there and despite their initial losses in the season we expect them to come on strong. This was clearly evident with the two-game sweep of Tampa last weekend. We all know Tampa is good. We use all games as training games in preparation for playoffs so you will never see the Eels take anything any one for granted or be complacent. The Eels teams have gone about this week business as usual. We have added the CCM game on Wednesday that will trigger more explosive speed and the attack and heighten scoring opportunities. The Eels players and fans are looking forward to the Atlanta home stand. Next weekend we head to Charleston for weekend games.
This week the Eels will be sporting their white home jerseys and we will have name plates on the back of jerseys for all of the players.
The Premier team has their usual matinee Saturday 3:20 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm
The Elite team kicks of at 8:50 pm Saturday evening and they resume their 2nd game Saturday at 10:15 am
